Mental health in the workplace: prevention rather than cure, with Emilie DEL DO
Emilie DEL DO shares her advice on preventing stress and burnout and improving mental health at work.
The Swiss digital market is set to rebound in 2026. Following a slight dip in pay in 2025, IT salaries are rising once again, driven by four key factors: the’artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, the cloud and data. As a result, skilled digital professionals are among the highest-paid in the country. Here is the ranking of the 10 highest-paying jobs – and, more importantly, how to get into them.

At the top of the pyramid, IT directors and technical directors earn between CHF 220,000 and CHF 260,000, with salaries peaking at CHF 350,000 in Zurich’s financial sector. These roles require 15 years’ experience and a dual background in technology and business.
It is the highest-paid non-managerial role in Switzerland. The enterprise architect designs the overall architecture of the information system. A rare, strategic and highly sought-after role.
Managing project portfolios worth several million francs pays off. Senior programme managers have the highest median monthly salaries in the sector, exceeding 12,000 CHF.
The migration to AWS, Azure and GCP continues on a massive scale. An advanced cloud certification alone adds between 5,000 and 15,000 CHF to an annual salary.
Cybersecurity is the most competitive sector in the Swiss market. Faced with a skills shortage and regulatory pressure (nLPD, DORA), security managers are calling the shots.
The fastest-growing profession. In Zurich, the 75th percentile exceeds CHF 190,000. Python, LLM, MLOps: AI skills have become the number one driver of salary growth in the market.
A data scientist who can demonstrate a business impact – not just models – quickly earns over 135,000 CHF.
Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD: infrastructure automation is an essential foundation, and senior roles command salaries of up to 160,000 CHF.
At the crossroads of technology, design and business, the Product Manager shapes product strategy. This is a role that is accessible to those looking to change careers from marketing or project management.
The gateway to the top 10. It is also the most accessible career path for those looking to change careers: demand for web and mobile development remains among the highest in the country.
Three key findings emerge. Firstly, specialist expertise pays more than management: an enterprise architect earns more than many directors. Secondly, cross-functional skills – such as cloud computing, security and AI – command the highest salary premiums, regardless of one’s core role. Finally, regional disparities remain marked: Zurich and the Lake Geneva region offer 10 to 20 % more than the national average.
None of these roles requires a linear career path. The majority of digital professionals in Switzerland have pursued continuous professional development: cloud certifications, training in data and AI, and certified project management. This is precisely the mission of’OSAM Training : certified learning pathways, designed for the Swiss market, to help you progress from your current role to the one you’re aiming for.
