This official scale, developed by the Council of Europe, comprises six reference levels ranging from A1 (beginner) to C2 (proficient). It is used by training organisations, businesses, universities and numerous internationally recognised certification schemes.
Our placement test provides an initial, reliable assessment of your knowledge. However, it does not replace an official qualification.
