Context and issues

Retail is one of the most dynamic and demanding sectors of the Swiss economy. Faced with digital transformation, the rise of e-commerce and constantly changing purchasing behaviour, retail professionals today have to master much more than just selling: they have to lead teams, manage resources, analyse results and build differentiating customer experiences. The title of Retail Specialist with Federal Certificate of Proficiency recognises generalists who are highly sought after in the market, with extensive knowledge of the sector and interconnected professional and management skills.

In a retail environment undergoing profound change, this qualification provides national recognition of the expertise acquired in the field, and a lever for advancement to positions of responsibility. The aim is to achieve professional autonomy or a position as division manager, or even manager of a small or medium-sized retail branch. Serious preparation for this exam will give you the means to take a decisive step in your career, by consolidating what you have learnt and developing a global and strategic vision of the profession.
